Location: Kastella, Athens
Located high above the Mikrolimano in Kastella, initial study of the space and on consideration of the clients needs, led to the full renovation of the apartment. Opening up of spaces and elimination of walls which once limited the expanse to the view below. A single wall was introduced to separate the kitchen and communal areas from the private areas of the apartment, creating a larger sense of space and allowing the kitchen and adjoining areas to become more spacious. The bathroom was redesigned, expanded and the toilet set apart. A low running structural beam running directly through the apartment was used to create flowing and interesting ceiling surfaces. All the cabinetry was custom designed to adapt to the unusual confines of the apartment. The timber floor is complemented by the clean lines and fresh colours of the furniture.
